With another year coming to a close, I want to stress how privileged we are at ACD/Labs to work with such great customers, researchers, IT professionals, and partners. We are incredibly proud to play a role in the valuable work of our clients—helping them overcome innovation, collaboration, and productivity challenges. Your projects span from rare disease remedies to household chemicals, from beverages to new materials, from the tropical forests to the depth of the ocean to space research, and many others we cannot begin to list—all having a profound positive impact on society as a whole.
When ACD/Labs opened its doors in 1994, the focus of the company was very different than it is today. 21 years ago, our customers needed predictive modeling to advance their projects. While that need remains, the product mix has since grown to focus on our customer needs in knowledge retention, notably around the chemical and analytical instrumental information; broader global access and sharing, and demand for faster chemistry discovery and innovation. Software tools let scientists free up time for new ideas, troubleshooting, and advanced human comprehension of their projects. Now, more so than ever, our customers are asking for tools that give them instant access to existing human knowledge—whether that be insights into the work of their overseas colleagues or the analysis of results from past projects. While the R&D environment and therefore the direction of our company has shifted over time, one thing has remained constant—the human element in the R&D process is irreplaceable.
I speak for our organization when I say the entire ACD/Labs team feels continuously connected to the successes of our customers. Like most of you, members of our team have dedicated years to the advancement of chemistry R&D, which has led to many business relationships, and more importantly, personal friendships. It’s not only our business, it’s our passion. On behalf of all of us at ACD/Labs, I would like to wish you a successful year ahead!
