The ACD/Labs Technical and Scientific Services team is seeking a proactive individual who enjoys and excels at problem-solving and demonstrates good interpersonal skills, is capable of learning on the job, is self-motivated, can work independently or as part of a team, and is detail oriented. As an Application Scientist, you do play a key role in providing technical and scientific support to our clients by demonstrating ACD/Labs scientific software solutions and contributing to the success of our clients’ workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ACD/Labs scientific software solutions that address specific needs within our clients’ workflows.
- Provide software testing and training to clients, ensuring they can effectively utilize the software solutions.
- Assist with technical support, responding to client inquiries and troubleshooting issues.
- Participate in conferences, representing the company and showcasing our software solutions to a wider audience.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- M.Sc. Degree with a minimum of 18 months of industrial work experience, or higher, in Chemistry
- Well-versed with modern analytical techniques including NMR, GC/MS, LC/MS, UV, IR, Raman, etc.
- Skilled and comfortable with software, including MS Windows® operating systems.
- Prior knowledge of C software solutions is an asset.
- Prior knowledge of Labs software solutions or other informatics platforms like ELN and LIMS is desirable.
- Familiarity with scientific software, other operating systems, programming languages (Java, Pascal, and Visual Basic), or databasing systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) is highly desirable.
- Proactive individual who excels and enjoys problem-solving.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and can work effectively with clients and team members.
- Capable of learning on the job and staying up-to-date with evolving scientific software solutions.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in software testing and training.
- Strong composition, grammar, and presentation skills in English.
