Compounds Containing a or Group
Rule C-954. Hydrazidines
954.1 - Compounds RC(NH-NH2)=N-NH2 are termed generically "hydrazidines" or, if the name of the corresponding acid ends in "-carboxylic
acid", are termed "-carbohydrazidines".
954.2 - Names of individual compounds RC(NH-NH2)=N-NH2 are derived from the name of the corresponding acids by changing the ending "-ic acid" or "-oic acid" to "-ohydrazide
hydrazone", or "-carboxylic acid" to "-carbohydrazide hydrazone". The nitrogen atoms are numbered as shown in the example.
